In honor of Women’s History Month, this month’s gouache painting inspiration is:

Iconic Women in History!

As an author and illustrator of women’s history books, this subject has a very special place in my heart. Art is a fantastic way to celebrate the individuals, movements, and cultures that have shaped our world! In researching, writing, and illustrating portraits of iconic women, my hope is that it inspires girls and women of all ages to see their own power, influence, and worth.

How to draw your inspiration:

Now it’s your turn! Painting a portrait of the women who inspire you is a beautiful way to honor them and share their stories with the world. In my class, Iconic Women in History: Draw Your Inspiration, I take you step-by-step through the process of how to draw a portrait of a woman who inspires you. The class is taught using Photoshop, but if you want to stick to gouache, join me in my class, Paint a Portrait in Gouache.

If you’re nervous about painting a portrait, I want to encourage you to give it a try. I know that it can feel a little scary if you’re new to it, but if you give it a shot you might be surprised by the results!

If you’re new to Skillshare, you can get a free month-long trial which grants you unlimited access to my classes plus thousands of others.
